1st House (1H)The self, identity, physical body, appearance, and how one initiates things. It’s the lens through which the world is experienced, and can manifest as one’s “first impression” to the world, including temperament, demeanor, posture.
2nd House (2H)Finances, material possessions, values, how one earns and manages resources. It also concerns self-worth, core values, the value one places on oneself, manifesting as sense of security and confidence.
3rd House (3H)Communication, learning and the immediate environment. This can manifest as intellect, learning style, relationships with siblings or neighbors, travel (especially short trips) and early education. It also influences ways of thinking (cognition), curiosity, writing and speaking ability.
4th House (4H)The house of home, family, and ancestry. This manifests as one’s foundational or home life, immediate and distant (ancestral) family, what one’s private life is like, the stories of one’s roots, childhood experiences and how that influenced the inner self today (mental health or inner peace, coping mechanisms, life patterns derived from early childhood such as attachment styles).
5th House (5H)Creativity, pleasure, leisure and joy. One’s unique spark. This manifests as modes of self-expression, romance and play, demeanor towards/relationship with children, how one participates in hobbies, fun, experimentation, risks and creative pursuits.
6th House (6H)Work, daily routines, health, well-being and practical matters. This manifests as “service to others” or duties, day-to-day activities and stability, physical well-being (both illness and healing), work environments, self-improvement and discipline, and practical/domestic skills such as chores. May also govern pets and small animals.
7th House (7H)All one-on-one partnerships. Romantic partnerships, marriage, business partnerships, even enemies. It also governs contracts, agreements and commitments, how we perform against these areas and what we seek from them. It dictates sense of balance, diplomacy and what we consider fair.
8th House (8H)Intimacy, community and shared resources. This governs everything from inheritance, taxes, investments and wealth to sex, death, rebirth, psychological transformation and the occult. The common theme is the cyclical nature of rebirth and regeneration, and often the taboo.
9th House (9H)The house of philosophy and higher learning. This can manifest as higher education, long-distance travels, foreign languages and cultures, dealings with religion and law, and one’s worldview, ethical beliefs, and character formation through experience.
10th House (10H)Famously the house of career and vocation/aspiration. This manifests as one’s career or career aspirations, public image and reputation, worldly ambitions and one’s standing in (or contributions to) the world. It also manifests as one’s mental relationship with fame, ambition and influence, and one’s relationship to authority figures.
11th House (11H)Friendships, community and ideals. This can manifest as long-term goals and wishes, social networks, and humanitarian pursuits. This can also represent gains, income and supporters, i.e. the pursuit of a group’s dreams or humanity’s dreams.
12th House (12H)The house of the unseen. Deals with the subconscious mind, dreams and secrets, hidden enemies, deeper spirituality including secret beliefs and fears, confinement (hospitals or prisons), spiritual growth, and endings before new beginnings. It may also manifest as psychic abilities and deep spirituality.
